DK 45, 2003
I have a DK 45 with a Bush hog M346 front end loader. I bought it used with 357 hours for $12,000. It now has 420 hours on it. Let me say i really like the tractor (still)
I broke the front center ring gear (3 teeth off). When it broke i was shuttling mud from a backhoe filling my bucket (full) probably to full on a 12% grade backing out up the grade about 30' (because of site constraints i could not go forward up the grade) putting a great deal of weight on the front end. The rear tires are loaded and i had a 4' tiller for some counter weight on the back.
It looks like the ring gear bolts were loose which may have caused the brake. It also looks like the front end was worked on before i got it you can see where a wrench has been on every bolt and nut head on the front end.I should have not filled the bucket full. The mud was just to heavy. It was its 15 trip when it broke.
Question is do you guys think the Bush Hog M346 is bit to big for the DK 45? It seem it would lift anything.
Also does anyone the back lash setting on the Ring and pinion?

I made sure at all times that the front diff. gear oil was just above the red dot in the sight glass.

intel , I'm glad to see you like your Kioti.I have a DK50 and just love it. I also had differentil problems (broken spider gears) that was years ago. Kioti fixed it under warranty. The dealer said it had updated part numbers or somthing. The new parts looked beefier (stronger) and I have not had any problems since. My service manual says to set the backlash at: 0.2 to0.3mm (0.0078 to 0.0118) I'm not familiar with the bush hog loader. I have a kioti 1590s loader it also will lift just about anything. I was digging out tree roots when the spider gears broke. good luck I hope this helps. Frenchie.

Thanks this will help a lot. Still waiting on parts, they were processed this past Monday September 29, 2008. I hope i get the updated parts.
I will try and be easier from now on after all it is a farm tractor not construction equipment.

Dealer says it will be at least another week before parts come in. He says kioti head quarters is doing inventory.
That is really the only complaint i have is getting parts and i really don't if is dealer or head quarters. Do any other dealers on here have problems getting parts?
Never had any problems with john deer you can on line and order you own parts.

The KIOTI warehouses were closed for annual inventory and software upgrades last week. Normal part delivery from the time we order to the time we have parts in our shop from the warehouse is 3 days, if we don't have it in stock. For a shipping premium, we can have them at our door the next day. The warehouses are very well stocked, part availability is excellent. Your dealer shouldn't have any problems getting what you need come Monday.
