Oil & Fuel DK 45s Diesel tank capacity?

Interesting topic, I found the DK45HST to have a "strange" capacity as well. I believe the manual states 11.X gals. (I could be off) however, I have run it down to below the empty line, than filled it with a 5 gal. can and watch the guage creep up to just under the full line. So either the guage is incorrect or the tank is much smaller than 11.X gals. I am assuming that once the needle hits the empty mark you still have 3 or so gallons in the tank. But as many have said, who wants to run their tank dry playing "chicken"?

Thanks and exactly who would want to run it dry. 1st time that I filled it checked the book and bought 15 gallon of fresh diesel. Would only take 5+. Next time I had about 4 gallon left and it went just passed the 3/4 mark. So if it wasn't showing completely empty (2 gallon) and I added 4 to put it at 3/4, my guess was that it was 8 - 10 gallon Full. Someone has filled an empty tank during dealer set up and knows the answer, just thought that someone would chime in - Thanks again for your helpful reply

Hey, I agree with you. My 45HST has only taken 8 gallons at one time once and I run it all the way down to below the mark. I can imagine it would of taken another 3-4 gallons but who knows. As a result I very rarely every put more than 5 gallons in at one time as that normally takes it up to 3/4 tank everytime.

Fuel gauges read FULL or EMPTY and somewhere in between? these are only guesstimates Is that a word?

FULL don't mean FULL and E don't mean ENOUGH, think about this a bit

I asked what I thought was a legitimate technical question concerning the Kioti DK45s that would have had a specific numeric answer or answers. One would think that a manufacturer would have a standard size for fuel tanks relating to a specific model. My feeling was that whoever translated the specs from Korean to English had made an error or it was a typo. I did not post this question in jest and do not answer others who post just to attempt to be funny. I guess to me it's a matter of showing respect. I didn't realize that the TBN Kioti Forum was connected to Comedy Central and posting a question would ire the resident comedian. It's all about respect or the lack of it. Have a Great Day

Your offer is/was most generous but I'm unable to give you the dimensions at the moment. I am not where the tractor is located and cannot comply but will when I can accurately measure the tank and Thanks Again

The Kioti website lists the DK45s with a 15.3 Gal tank, but the DK45se has a 11.9 gal tank listed. They look like identical units from the picture so deduction would assume that they have similar tanks.

I say that you have a 11.9 gallon fuel tank.

It's always been a mystery to me and I even commented to my wife about the tank capacity of the 45. I buy diesel 6 gallons at a time, usually put it in the tank when it's about 1/4 full and it seems to fill it up. As previously stated the manuel says 15.3 gal but that must be Korean gallons!!
MrJimi, I will get the tank dimensions for you tomorrow because this time of the year I am on the tractor every day except Sunday.

Book says 15 gallon but No Way mine will hold that much or the fuel guage is way off. What say the experts? Seems more like 10 gallon or so to me. Thanks

My tank gauge is way off, which works to prevent me running it dry, a big no-no. I'd estimate that the gauge reads empty when 10 gallons have been consumed, but lots more is in there.

Always keep in mind that tank capacity and usable fuel amount are never the same.
