DK 55, Hood latch problem

Hi all,

I have a 2011 DK55, the hood release won't work at all.
Any ideas to get the hood open?

First try "unloading" the force on the latch (by pushing the hood) and try the release again. If that doesn't work you will probably need to drill or find a hole that will allow you to poke a wire in there and trip the latch. Also unload the latch forces when you try this. You probably need to study drawings or photos of the latch to know where to pull. This will likely be frustrating.

It goes without saying that, once it is open, you need to fix the cable before closing it again.

What flavor DK55 do you have (DK55SE?)? Hopefully someone with the same model can take photos and maybe measurements that will assist you.

We have a 04 CK 30 and every since new it takes a light pull on the knob and a slap on the hood to open .

Same here for my ck27. I have to push down on the hood just enough to unload the latch. Once I do that it pops right open.
