DK45 broken and can\'t get parts

I have a fairly new (5 month old) DK45 that was damaged by someone working on my property. We live on the gulf coast and bought the unit to clean up our property which was left in a shambles after Hurricane Katrina. The worker dropped a large log on top of the tractor and crushed the dash, bent the hood and bent the subframe that the dash and hood mount to. I have been waiting since Jan 6 for the frame part to come in and no one can tell me if it will ever arrive. I love the tractor, but hate the service. I have been trying to get an answer from Kioti directly, but even they have stopped communicating with me. Has anyone else had trouble getting repair parts? Any suggestions on an alternative route to solve this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciate.

I waited pretty near 2 months for tranny parts for my CK20 earlier this year.

I never ever got to speak to anyone from Kioti regarding any of my issues, except for one brave individual, who called me at home from their home late one night, but it was strictly "off the record".

It took 8 weeks to get a synchronizer for my shuttle last fall and to get it installed. I was not a happy camper. While the dealer had it they did straighten the tie rod, replace the tie rod ends and replace the hydraulic filter. The only charge was for the tie rod ends.

I've never needed any parts except for a turn signal lense that fell off when I picked it up, got that shipped the next day.

I hate to give you bad news, but for parts like the sub-frame assembly under the dash that are viturally never damaged during normal use you will likely wait a very long time. I would also say that would be true for any other brand of tractor too. I would seriously doubt if any of the foreign built compact tractors (and that would be 90+% of all compact tractors) of any brand would have an 'extra' part like that in their US inventory.

However, there is one more place you might be able to check (and I doubt they would have it, but its worth a try) and that is to call your local Cub Cadet dealer. The 8000 series Cub Cadets are yellow & white versions of the Kioti DK tractors. There is a slim chance that Cub may have the parts you need.

If Kioti USA doesn't have it in stock it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks from korea in my experiences. Are you sure your dealer ordered it?
I have only ever had one part that Kioti USA didn't have I might add, that was a wire harness that was updated. Well the tractor got damaged in shipping, and the replacement parts had not come over from Korea yet cause the change was so new.
Something sounds out of place in your situation.

Like Bob said, some parts are just not going to be stocked by any brand's dealers and will likely have to come over on a boat from a long way off.

Also, I wonder if extras are actually made until needed. I would think a MFG probably makes enough of the larger parts that you damaged based on units that are going to be sold, and if extras are needed, they make them on order.

Still, it's a shame to have to wait so long, but I've read similar posts in other brands when it comes to special parts.

More than half of the parts that I've had to order are on "backorder" from Korea or wherever. In those cases, if I am stranded, a good dealer will borrow the part from a new tractor. We're talking things like the little ball and socket for the loader control, tie rods, and the little wiring plugs. It is also possible that they are holding up a whole order when a single item is backordered.

On the bright side, I have always been able to walk in and get filters.

Well, guess what....the parts finally came in. After 5 months wait, we have our tractor back. A few tips on what went on in between the ordering of the parts and getting them in. I emailed Kioti and someone was supposed to be checking on the problem for me. She vanished and would not return my emails for several weeks, so I googled their telephone number and finally got in touch with someone after three days of calling. Another, very helpful lady, told me that the first person had been transfered to another department so that was why she did not get back with me. Anyway, they finally got on the ball and gave me an expected ship date and the part arrived within two days of the date they gave me. The dealer jumped right on it and did a great job once he had the part. One thing you want to know, however is that Kioti reps do monitor this site as when I sent someone to pick up the tractor, the dealer commented on "hearing about it" from Kioti after I posted. Anyway, lessons learned and I have a great running tractor. Hopefully I will never need an unusual part again. If so, I have Kioti's direct number now.
