Out of curiosity, is the rationale for removing the FEL to shorten up the tractor for mowing, or for some other reason?

Well in my case......I once put the teeth of my bucket through the vinyl siding of the house. Holy........ And being a slow learner, I again put them through the TV dish. Holy....... Not Again... Those dishes crack pretty easy and don't get much signal after that. I REALLY want my wife to have a signal from that dish. Oh yes I do. That I seemed to learn much faster.

And you can imagine the loving words my dear wife had to say to me after the house. So I learned that to see well when mowing around HER house is much to my advantage. :) There for I do try to remove the loader when mowing (which is most of the time during the summer). For the times I need the loader it goes on pretty fast.

Hi,

I am new to the site and in the process of waiting on my new DK45S (c), the grapple you have pictured is very intresting to me. You are using the rear Hyd to control that? Here in the Brush Country of South Texas we are always looking for other options on brush control, seems to me that with that I wouldn't need to spent the $$$$$ on the John Deere pre-made.

Also, how does the joy stick controls operate for you? I was just a little concerned on the reliability of that portion of the unit.

The dealer set this up for me so I would have the grapple when I get the tractor instead of waiting for the WR Long diverter control. He set it up so the hydraulic lines disconnect at the same point the loader lines do. It works OK but I miss having all the controls on the joystick.

The joystick was not touched and only controls the bucket functions. The grapple is controlled by one of the rear remotes. The DK45SC comes with one remote standard so there is only the hydraulic lines to add. If you do it this way be sure they add a disconnect at the loader.

Thanks Al,

I just called Tom @ Hill Country Tractor and he is checking on an electric switch that can be added for the functions. He said it was an add on and that it comes built into the joy stick... when I get the info I will post it on here.

If he is looking at the one fron W R Long it is a great setup. It is very easy to install and includes the joystick knob with the buttons and disconnects at the loader tower just like the loader. I will be getting that setup again. I had it on my CK30and really liked it.

Send pictures when you get it up and running.

Did you try removing the "quick disconnect" bucket first, that would likely improve forward vision quite a bit. Not to mention removing the offending forks.
