DK45SE HST won't start

The few times mine was being obstinate, I will touch the forward or reverse pedal and it will usually shift in easily.

I found that if you have your foot off of the brake pedals it allows the tractor to move just slightly enough to allow the gears to engage, I have even had to 'rock' the tractor from the seat to get it to move ever so slightly to get it to engage.

I had the same no crank issue with my DK45 SE HST. My problem was just the key switch wire connector. Cleaned it, added a little dielectric compound and no problems for 8 months.

Landedakioti - there is a sequence ALL HST tractors should have done by the dealer. Here is what you need to do.

Go to local auto parts store purchase 1 gallon LUCAS HYDRAULIC OIL BOOSTER. Pour in transmission. Here is the sequence. Follow to resolve issue. This sequence must be done 10 times.

RPM to 2500+.

Start off in high range drive forward and reverse to max speed.
Place in neutral depress forward and reverse pedal fully.
Mid range drive forward and reverse to max speed.
Place in neutral depress forward and reverse pedal fully.
Low range drive forward and reverse to max speed.

What has probably happened is your tractor has sat for a while. Your shifter does not have the proper lubrication on it at this time and is dragging or gawling the fork on the shaft. We have had VERY GOOD success with the above process. What this does is splash the shifter with a lot of oil. Does it fix it? Yes and no. Depends on your amount of gawling. We pour in a quart in every tractor we sell. A gallon is overdoing it but will help you with your problem. The oil will stay on the shaft longer.

If your shaft/fork actually seizes contact your local dealer for warranty. If you are the one that bought out of state you may have to get back to dealer you purchased for warranty

I had the same problem with my DK45 HST. Mine was a relay on the firewall. Open the hood, and because it is akward to reach around, open the fuel door in the hood also. With a screw driver handle or something to tap with reach through the fuel door and there are 3 or 4 small relays on the right side of the firewall, while holding the ignition switch key in the starter position, tap on the relay closest to the centerline of the tractor. (The OEM relay on mine was blue, but the replacement was black, so it may or may not be blue.) As soon as I tapped that relay the starter would engage, when it first started happening I could tap it to get it going, then it would start normally a couple times, then it got to the point that I would have to tap it every time, finally replaced the relay and not a problem since. At least that is an easy item to check, give it a try, sure sounds exactly the way mine did.

Turns out to be the ignition switch in my case. New switch equals no problems. Lots of corrosion inside the switch seems to indicate that this one does not like being left out in the rain.

If you tap the pedal fwd or rev when trying to move the lever it will likely move very easily.

Yes, I had same problem and eventually the shifter rail failed @ 49 hours. tractor had to be broken in half to fix it. I was told Kioti has some problems with the shifter and they put a stronger rail back in. Apparently it has grooves that can wallow out. They did mention how the design makes it hard to stay lubricated but the new part is designed different to help.
