The DK50 has a Remote Rear Implement Control Lever - for raising/lowering the 3pt while standing behind the tractor.

Works fine - until I connect the rear auxiliary ports to my grapple. At that point, I can use the control lever to "raise" the 3pt but NOT to lower. The operator seat control still works fine.

How does this make sense?

It doesn't. It is just mechanical linkage connected to the same place the regular position control (orange handle) is connected.. Are you sure the drop rate control knob is open enough to allow whatever weight is on the 3pt to drop ?.. Don't see why it wouldn't be if the position control is working... sure you are not using the draft control next to the seat (yellow handle)?.. You have got me puzzled.

Nope - not using the draft control. I set it to full depth just to be sure the downward movement wasn't restricted.

The 3pt has nothing attached, but that has never stopped the control lever from running it up and down before.

I was wondering if having both remotes connected to the grapple would create a diversion of fluid pressure. Even then, it would make more sense "to me" that the lever would lower but not raise.

Tomorrow, I'll disconnect the remotes and see if I still have full function.

odd. The 3-point lowers by gravity only.

Thanks for the info. I'll put some weight on the thing and see what happens.

But you are saying that the Normal position control lever (orange lever) will at this time run the 3pt up and gravity will take it down, as it always does and always had, but the rear position control lever will raise it but will not lower it, correct? It has to be something mechanical, as it is just mechanical linkage. The drop rate control down by the floor in the middle of the front of the seat controls the rate of the drop of the 3pt., and of course if accidently turned clockwise by your foot, it will no longer drop. BUT. it wont drop by either of the position controls! Hence my confusion.

Yes - Correct.

Looks like I have a little investigating to do. All I know is, the tractor has only 40+ hours and the rear control lever was working a few months ago. If it's purely mechanical - perhaps something has just vibrated loose.

I'll try to look at this and update tomorrow.

Last week I used my DK45 HST for a community project with a borrowed post hole digger. I have had this tractor for 2 years and never had an issue with the 3ph. This is the first time I have used the PTO to do real work. We have a lot of rocks up here so I used low RPM's (1200-1400) to minimize any damage. I knew I was putting out low gpm and the 3ph and pto would be fighting for flow. No real issues digging holes except anticipated fight for flow. What made me think "Now What" was when I unhitched the post hole digger and could not get my 3ph to lower with no weight on it. Both levers beside seat in full down position, so aft lever useless trying to lower 3ph. Would raise it, but not lower it. I had to stand on 3ph to lower it. Yes I played with the speed control below the seat and it is now somewhere in the middle. Long story short, once I forced 3ph to lowest position, everything is back to normal. I do not have a service manual, are there good hydraulic diagrams in it? Egbart, I suspect we have a Stop/Check valve not doing it's thing. You are under warrantee so badger the dealer until it is fixed.

OK guys, I have officially won the Dump A of the day award :) Now I'm going to be really upset if anyone tries to steal it from me!

The remote lever works just fine. I must have have my head on backwards and was, in fact, using the draft control lever in the cab. After having it explained that this was just a mechanical linkage, I quickly discovered the error of my ways.

Thanks for the info - problem solved.
