DK50SE stuck in low range

Imagine a CVT transmission of a UTV or something similar. The HST is similar on how it varies the speed but it's done using fluid instead of a belt like the CVT and has the ability to reverse without extra gearing.

Ummm, that seems like a good correlation, the belt is sending power to the gears I guess......

That’s the one! It was JB welded and leaking a good amount of hydraulic fluid.
Yeah Jb for last resort. So I assume you ordered that whole housing part, probably $200.00, then with all the other parts must pushing $1000.00, but if your careful you can save a bundle on the labor cost...
Whats your brakes look like, they really thin? 4 years ago I had to repair my housing and looked at the brakes and they were really thin, I thought for 800 hr, but I dont know how thick they'r suppose to be either. Thanks for all your input on the repair, it can be time consuming getting all the pictures and posting.

I am reading this with amazement. What is your background that you would feel confident in splitting a tractor? Wow. Impressive.

My 2016 DK5010 Hydraulic Shuttle has started to pop out of forward gears in low range on flat or up hill. I can hold it in gear with one finger on the shuttle. Strangely, downhill is fine as is high range.

The local dealer wants me to bring it in and I will one day, and they warned me (kindly/wisely) they will likely have to split the tractor and that operation is 15 hours labour plus repairs. My warranty ran out a couple weeks before I reported the issue and Kioti has no grace period. I figure this will be a $2k to $3k repair.

Question to you wise gentlemen,. Any guesses as to what my problem likely is in light of the up hill, down hill difference in symptom?

In your case, I suspect that it's either the fork as well or a bad synchro for the forward.

Is there anyway to adjust the linkage for the shuttle shift lever? Some tractors have adjustments on those that can be done externally.

There is an adjustment on the shuttle handle but that has no bearing on the linkage arm into the side of the transmission case (attached photo). It is so close that likely a 1/16" adjustment would probably solve the issue if it could adjusted, at least in the short term. The difference of a 5 degree grade has me baffled as well. Is something loose on its shaft?

Any tips in the EX50 shop manual? Forgive me for hijacking the discussion. IMG_20200714_131400.jpg

Wondering if the bolt that locks the fork on the shaft is loose and the fork kinda moves around loosely.

I've seen EX50 for sale in my country anywhere from 3000 to 5000 hours. We only run geared transmissions here. The owners are happy with the machines and trade them for newer ones.

Yes sir, total came out to around $900 with a few other smaller items. I haven’t measured the brakes to see if they’re in spec, might do that this weekend. No problem on the pics! Hopefully get some up soon of it assembled. Right now trying to decide on what sealant to use for the case. Shop manual says loctite 5060 or equivalent, doesn’t look like the 5060 is available anymore.

Thanks! I’ve done some mechanic work on cars as a hobby, but this is my very first time working on a tractor. It seems a bit intimidating, but as you dig into it a lot of it is straight forward and simple, the shop manual helps. It’s actually a great learning experience and helps become familiar with your tractor, I was able to answer a lot of my questions once it was apart. Unfortunately I don’t have any advise on your issue, since this is the only tractor I’ve been in. No worries about posting here about your issue!

LOCTITE AA 5810A may be an available alternative?

Thank you. All the best with your rebuild. And yes to photos.
