Dk55 hydraulics problem

   / Dk55 hydraulics problem #11
Okay, this is good to know. I have a DK55C with about 180 hrs on it and it is doing the same thing. Here is my two cents. I've had power steering problems with this guy from about day one. I've mentioned it to my dealer but they didn't say much. I think the power steering is not right, thus putting strain on the rest. I'm going to call Todd over at Tractor Hill and see what he can tell me.

did I read correctly on the Kioti website that the PTO is connected with a Hydraulic clutch pack? If so could the load on the pto over time cause a heat problem if the clutches were loaded enough to slip a bit ? I don't know what the setup is, but I seem to remember someone else on this forum having to replace the pto clutch on there tractor at what seemed a premature number of hours. If a person used the tractor to operate a heavy pto load at a lower engine rpm would this affect the hydraulic pressure keeping the pto clutch pack locked?? Again- I am uneducated as to the mechanics and just talking out loud.

I'm not sure about the PTO clutch but I will ask about this. Now they are going to install a hydraulic cooler on the tractor. They say that a dk55 with cab comes standard with the cooler but it is not on the ROP's model. My concern with this is why is my dk55 ROP the only one that needs a cooler and are we just eliminating a symptom and not fixing the problem. Even if we cool the hydraulics down to where the joystick operates properly are we leaving a problem that will come back to haunt me later, like after the warranty period. By the way if there are any power steering problems I have not noticed them.

not to overlook the simple things, but are your remotes in the neutral position when nothing is hooked to them? If remote is engaged and nothing is hooked to them it flows through the relief and gets VERY hot.

I've got the cab model, so I'm not sure the cooler will help, as mine is doing the same as yours. I would say it won't hurt... put it in. Last night I got under the cab to make sure there weren't any sticks in the hydro valve body, etc. It was clean. I'm going to check my three rear remotes tonight... why I didn't last night, I just don't know.

I spoke with me dealer and he has some info for me. I'll give him a buzz this afternoon. I've got to tell you this tractor is a real solid piece of machinery. I'm not worried about this problem, as I know we can fix it... so I'm going to move forward and work with Kioti to figure it out.

I'll let you know what I find... hopefully it isn't something too stupid on my end!

Okay, I don't have a hydraulics cooler... thought I did, but my tractor was right before they added them for the new DK55Cs, so I'm going to check my temps as well, maybe this weekend.

Yes the remotes are in neutral while operating. The only time the remotes were activated was to lift or lower the haybine which takes only a couple of seconds.

I had a chance to play with my dk this weekend, and while I was waiting to unload a tank from the truck with the forks I seemed to notice the hydraulics making a strained noise at idle. I checked the remotes and they were fine. What I did discover was that I had raised the position lever on the 3 point all the way up. The full up position was causing a bypass situation, and it only took a slight down movement to stop the sound. I have never observed this before but the sound was not that loud, and I may have missed previous occurances. I don't know if this could be the problem, but I wanted to pass along.

Dr. Rick, that would make sense on the haybine but not on the bush hog. I will see if I can find time to run to the dealers and see if mine acts the same way. Thanks

Does your dealer have a PTO Dyno?
