DK551C and KL1595 update

Good luck. Go slow.

I understand your point regarding conservative engineering. I had a ML320 but that was truly a small truck. The X5 as I recall is a unibody however. Here's an idea: put the Bimmer on the trailer and tow it home with the Kioti!

FWIW, the tow ratings of the same vehicle is often higher in Europe and elsewhere than it is in the US. I'd guess it's largely due to the sue-happy mentality that's prevalent in the US.

This sounds about right,
thanks for the info.
The only catalogue I could get on the net was one from Romania which I think referenced an older version of the loader.
I will keep you guys updated on developments.
A side issue I am working on is an effective detachable ballast for the rear.
My cattle go inside in about 2-3 weeks, and the Kioti will be going to work for real, after it gets a good polish and rust treatment,
a tacky transparant wax I spray on everything I get new.
It's a lot wetter in Ireland than you folk are used to in the land of the free:)
I will have about 2 weeks to get this work done.
You will get lots of pictures in due course.

I'm sure you've searched TBN for ideas. The one I like as simple, effective and cheap is to use a 55gallon drum and put rebar through the middle sticking out both sides to link to the 3PT arms. Use something for a toplink stabilizer then fill it with rocks and concrete above the rebar level to the desired weight.

I always have some attachment on the rear serving as ballast and therefore haven't pursued any other detachable ballast solution.

Donegal: Please tell me more about the "tacky transparent wax I spray on everything I get new" I would like to treat my equipment with something like the wax you are using. Thanks

Google the name"Waxoyl"
Other companies make similar products.
It can be diluted with white spirits to put on an all but invisible protective layer.
Does'nt come off with power washing.
I have a 10 yo SAME 100 that looks essentially new because of this stuff.

I realize this post is quite a few years old but I have been making myself crazy trying to run down the specs on a KL1595 loader. I have found what I think is a good deal on 2004 DK55 (only 160 hrs!) with a KL1595 loader. My only concern is the capacity of the loader (and of course the well documented issue with the roll-back). I'd feel better about it if it indeed have at least the capacity reported by Wallace (2685 lbs) vs. the other European documentation I have been able to find (1365 lbs). I currently have a CK30 with a KL130 loader and looking for more capacity but it the KL1595 only has 1365lbs of capacity I'm not gaining much.

I don't know where that European number comes from (you sure it isn't kilos rather than pounds). I'm pretty sure the Kl1595 is about the same lift capacity as the KL401 so 2685lbs sounds right to me.

The specs on my 2014 KL401 on my DK45 are 2761 lbs of lift capacity at full height. I bet Island is right, that 1365 number is kilograms which would equate to 3009 lbs.
