if you've thought of purchasing a grapple.. do it! it's probably one of the most useful tools i've used in the farm restoration. my only regret was waiting to puchase it. we just finished rebuilding 2,000 ft. of stone wall - sure beats using chains to secure large rocks to the FEL.

the grapple was built by Loflin Manfucturing. i looked at Anbo and a few others, but decided on this unit due to the price, the welds, and the weight.

i probably have ~50+ hours on this grapple.. no problems. it's plumbed through the rear remotes (will have to look into the kit that allows me to plumb it directly into the FEL joystick to open/close the grapple).

That is a nice set up!

I like the dual cylinders. It sure looks heavy duty. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

the FEL operates up/down motions, i use the port control (for lack of the correct term..e.g., A/B) to open/close the tines.

this is not the most ideal setup, as it requires me to take my hands off the joystick to open/close the unit. i'm looking into a better system now..

Usually when you plumb a grapple to the rear remotes, you use the remote's control lever to open and close the grapple.
