That price sounds incredible for a new DK65s with cab, loader, 72" HD bucket and quick attach. I just priced one out last Thursday. The dealer I visited was a super guy. I was there quite a while and posted some pics of a terrible accident that happened with one of his employees on a Branson tractor.
Anyway, after investing a considerable amount of time at the dealership, helping get his employee stabilized an in the ambulance, and helping get the Branson on all 4 wheels, I think the dealer likely gave me a pretty fair price. That price was $32,303. With the circumstances, I can't imagine that dealer even wanting to try to hold $4k gross on me. No, I don't really think that would be the case at all. The dealer was a great guy and I was more than a passing customer asking for a quote.
Anyway, as far as the tractors go, the L5030HST would compare much more closely to the DK50. The DK65 is physically a much larger, more powerful, and much heavier tractor. You pick up right at 600 pounds additional loader lift capacity with the DK65 and a whopping 2000 pounds additional lift capacity at the 3 pt. hitch. As far as the cabs on the Kioti being superior, I'd have to say no. They Kioti cabs are very nice, but I would not rate them as superior. What is superior on the Kioti DK65 is the 26.5 gallon fuel tank as compared to the tiny 11.4 on the Kubota.
I did make the mistake (oops /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) of not realizing that you do have to use the clutch on the DK65 shuttle shift. Using the clutch it did operate fine. I've only used the hydro on the 5030. The DK65 did "feel" heavier and a little sluggish compared to the 5030. That is likely attributed to the Kioti DK65 having 100.65 pounds per hp as compared to the Kubota 5030's 78.8 pounds per hp. It is nice that the DK65 comes standard with front and rear differential lock and standard rear work lights. The dash and instrument panel on the 5030 is much nicer with not only the standard tach, hour meter, temp gauge and fuel gauge, but also includes exact ground speed, trip meter, and exact PTO speed reading. With the additional gauges, feel of the seat positon and cab materials, I'd actually give Kubota the slight edge on cab quality. There is just a more precision feel to operating the 5030. There again, the DK65 is actually more a true agriculture tractor than a utility tractor. I would think that a more work feel was desired. Yes, the DK65 is "pure animal". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
If you compare the
L5030 to the DK50, the 5030 is almost the exact same weight, but has a shade more hp and a shade more PTO hp; even with the L5030HSTC comparison tractor being a hydro. The
L5030 loader lifts more, and the
L5030 3 pt. hitch lifts more. The DK50 is not available in hydro at this time. I didn't price the DK50, but the 5030 is more tractor on the stat sheet than the DK50.
I think there is likely a mistake in the price you were quoted. If not, it would be a decision of what you wanted more; smooth and refined, or big and powerful.
