NOTE: may not fit cab equipped tractors.... sorry guys

I lucked out when I purchased a Plano #1612-00 Deep Field Box; Size is: 15 x 8 x 10" It fits perfectly bolted to the right side loader arm, just above the diagram of loader's joystick operation. There is a bolt hole in just the right place to install a 1/4' or slightly larger bolt from the loader's (orange) vertical steel frame into the end area of the Plano box. Placed properly this allows the bottom edge of the box to sit on the gray/black loader frame member. With the Plano box label facing to the outside of the tractor, one can open the box lid and it will hinge toward the front of the tractor.
The box may need a 'leg' support which I will probably add to the setup mentioned above, for additional support, since the box is not really meant for this particular application, and the wall material is not particularly heavy duty use. My current thinking is to use a piece of threaded rod with a fender washer that will sit on the floor-mat and a nut directly above to keep it held in place to disperse the downward load from the box above. Then I will allow the rod to enter the Plano box's floor with a fender washer and nut just below the floor and the same rig inside the boxes 'floor' to lock everything together. I've mounted mine so it is split, and evenly balanced on the end of the loader arm, so it is not protruding out beyond the protection the loader arm provides due to it's mass. And the box is high enough to not be anywhere near the hst pedals. Since it is mounted on the right side of the tractor it will also help to remind one to enter the tractor from the left side only, for safety in relation to the loader joystick, etc. And so far it does not seem that it will block visibility too much; the loader's arms are doing a good job of that already:laughing:
My original intent when I bought the box was to install it where the little black box Kioti provides goes behind the seat, but for several reasons, mostly due to size restraints, it would not work there, or for that matter anywhere else I could think of until I saw the above opportunity.

It is available via Cabela's or via www.Planomolding.com
I have no association with either company.

Don't get all excited Bob, you have a cab model so you're out.

Dang! too excited I guess - didn't read closely enough.

Oh well . . . .

I am going to take some pics- so maybe depending on how the cab is setup you might be able to adapt something like this to fit your situation....

The Plano box is plastic. For the same price there are .50 cal military surplus metal ammo boxes available. Is there an advantage to plastic here? I would think the metal would be easier to secure and is more easily painted to match.

Nice idea on mounting position. Does it stick out far or is it flush to the side?

Yes, the Plano box is plastic and somewhat 'camo' color though not as much as some 'camo' items are usually. I personally don't care so much about making things orange to match - I'm more concerned with them working for the task at hand, and I had already purchased the box. Since it has an 'o' ring seal at the lid it will work well for me.
I've decided to support the box from underneath with the use of some schedule 40 conduit I have left over.
Fitment will be revealed by pics that will be forthcoming... As already stated; I've mounted mine so it is split, and evenly balanced on the end of the loader arm, so it is not protruding out beyond the protection the loader arm provides due to it's mass. And the box is high enough to not be anywhere near the hst pedals.
Stay tuned for upcoming pics.... :)

Me not so good at uploading pics.... Don't do it often enough. :)

Please note: one of the pics shows how I enclosed the loader pin retaining chain(s) with clear plastic tubing to prevent the chains from scratching the loader arm's paint.
While I'm on the subject of pet peeves about Kioti tractors - man would I like it if they made the hood open high enough to get at things on the firewall. Ideally it would open to vertical!

How do you guys like the pics?

Thx,

CM
