I recently bought eighty acres and the man I bought it from said their was an old do all in the pasture, I was wondering if anyone knew what that is used for and how to use it.

Thanks

Do-all is a bandsaw .... Maybe he meant Farm-all

Could also be a clay target thrower. Maybe I'm ****, but if I were buying 80 acres I'd want to at least walk it and see what was there. Could be there's a spot where some yoyo has stacks of 50 gallon drums full of hazardous chemicals rusting away.

Around here a "Do All" is a piece of finishing equipment that is ran just in front of the planter. It's job is to level the land, prepare a good seed bed and incorporate chemicals. I really think the term Do All means different things to different farms but you will probably fine a piece of equipment that can do several different things at once which is where we get "Do All"

I'm wondering if it would be a Shaw Du-all.

Put on your do-boots, walk out in your do-pasture, take/post a couple do-pics and do ask again. :D

Years ago there was a "Do it all" sold in your area which was basically an S tine field cultivator 3PH commonly availabe in 6' to 8' widths. I had an 8' model to use with my 3020 Deere. Today I have a Deere 6' field cultivator and with all the other attachments it doesn't see much use.

I would not want to find it with my tractor and brush hog as has been mentioned.

A do all is run after you hip up rows to flatten and prep the bed for the planter. It leaves a flat seed bed and busts up any clods.

Most have a reel looks like a long reel mower.
Behind that are what looked like a drag harrow and last were boards, literally lumber, that left a flat bed.

I would love to have one of those in 12-14 foot wide to drag over the pasture to level out the humps after disking. Those are the best thing for creating a flat level surface that was ever made.

Yeah all the old 4 row and 2 row stuff hard to find.
Price of scrap gets high and folks be broke more dissappears each year.

I Had already looked it over but had never heard of one so I wanted more information to see if I wanted to go to the trouble of trying to make it useable. Its about ten feet wide or so. Thanks for the information.

It figures, ask a question about a Do All and you get a ton of meaningless answers from a bunch of 'know it all's':dance1:

Will try to get a picture of it tomorrow, it's in the back pasture and has been to wet here to drive back their. I just bought this place and I'm finding all kinds of interesting things. Yesterday I found an old bell. My wife had been wanting one so right now I'm on her good side. I hope it last for a while.
