I'm looking at a couple used Deere PHD's at an upcoming auction and the newer one has a 12" auger. I'm wondering if I would be able to buy other brands of augers that would fit the Deere. I can't tell what size and type the shaft is coming out of the gearbox. Would any of you guys or gals know whether other brands including aftermarket would fit the deere?

Not 100 % sure but I'd say yes that one in pic looks alot like a Bush Hog brand post hole digger.
I dought if JD actually made that. Something like there Frontier boxblades used to be Woods/Gannon.

I think you're right as I saw a tag on the PHD that said "made for John Deere".
