Do doves scare away other birds?

This question is for those who have snakes and hawks among your birds. Don't the preyed upon birds raise an alarm and try to drive them out?

Mine dont, we have owls and a pair of hawks that have had nest here on the creek for several years. The only birds that harass them are the crows and Bluejay's.

Here is a photo I took off the front porch of a young owl 15' away in our bird bath. Notice the the "similarity":laughing:

Baby quail were in twice today. Only made it part way first time. Second time they were all over the food. Got a fairly accurant count at 15 babies.

Have 1 less Black bird. My outside dogs exploded towards the birds feeding. Brat came up with a black bird in her mouth. She tossed him out a couple of time wanting him to fly or run. After a while she took it to her hiding place. (Under the house.)

Saw the mole today, he does not upset the birds, was right there where they were feeding. God can he disappear quickly, 3 hops & he is gone.

Yesterday 2 of the fattest cotton tails came if for a drink. They are feeding on the low hanging leaves on the mesquite trees.

The jays were one of the preyed upon species I was thinking about.

Birds, Bunnies & lizards.
Lots of activity around here. At the moment 3 quail are jumping up to pick low hanging leaves off a mesquite tree.
The cotton tails are in & out all day long.
Under the same tree are at least 3 scaly lizards that are in the process of trying to breed. They are fun to watch.
One of the road runners went all through the brick pile under the tree that the lizards are using. It also had its head down one of their holes.
A little later its mate joined in and they went & played in the water.

Opened the back door a few minuets ago & had quail almost up to the door. All told there must have 25 or more in the back yard.
Have at least 3 quail familys with babies (small ones) coming in, 1 with about 15, anther with about 10 (This family seems to have 3 parents.) and another with only 5 or so. It looks like there is another family with near grown kids.
Think there is
Doves still coming in in droves 30 to 50?? Hard to tell. Them & the black birds (Cow or Barn birds??) Are like vacuum cleaners, think a 50# sack of feed would be gone in a day if I put it out.

If I'm sitting out back & there are no seeds, the cardinals (Eastern & Arizona ) & even some doves will get close & stare at me as if asking "Where are our Seeds".

Every now & then my Brat girl dog will go chase the birds off. Her and her mother are big time lizard hunters. They never get one but sure have fun. I did loose at least one lizard to the road runners.

Watching nature in action is better than TV.

We have doves every evening on the ground under the birdfeeder. And usually have some smaller birds along with them, so apparently our doves never scare away the other birds. But Wednesday afternoon, I looked out a bathroom window and saw a much bigger bird on the ground in the yard next door, so I got my binoculars and saw it fly away and then right back to land on the chain link fence between our back yards. I'm a long ways from being an expert at identifying birds, but it looked like an immature Mississippi Kite; first time I've ever seen anything like that around here.

Bird--Here's the thread on an owl that showed up in a cedar tree in my back yard. Imagine the shock when you see those beady eyes at eye level and 20 inches away.
