Bubba,

Thanks. So far the snow events have all been the light fluffy stuff.

What kind of blower do you have?

Can't believe you are getting snow already. I have a used Farm King that was in really good shape. Any blower made in Canada is built well with thick metal. Which is pretty much all of them that mount on a 3pt.

Even if your drive is 14' you may not need to keep it open that wide. I find anything over 10' wide is just overkill unless it's a place where two cars might need to pass.

True, plus, even with a 72" you can cover 12" in two passes

I'm in the final stages of making a decision on buying a snow blower for this coming winter as I'm thinking we are going to get hammered here in Colorado. My RX6010 tractor has a 66"wheelbase with a 59 hp engine. While the 74" blower is a slightly cheaper, I generally understand that its recommended the blower be six inches wider than the wheelbase so would it be better to go with one that covers the wheelbase by 8inches or one that is 18 inches wider? Again, i appreciate everyone's help?

Just a friendly reminder that the wheelbase is the measurement between the center front and rear wheels. The 74" blower should be find and will cover your full rear tire width perfectly. My tractor has a 71" rear tire width and I use 75" snowblower just fine. As long as the snowblower is an inch or two longer than your full rear tire width you will be ok; you do not want the rear tires wider than the blower or the tires will ride up on the snow making the blower useless. If that happens, then you have to start thinking about wings for the blower, ugh...

Jvolock- Did you pick out a blower? Under the right conditions (daylight, not too windy, etc.) blowing is pretty enjoyable.
