Hi Guys.
I'm driving a 8-14 GPM auger gearmotor with a 22 hp gas engine spinning a Prince .75 cubic pump, and everything is operated with a Prince 20 GPM motor spool valve. The spool has a relief pressure set at 2800 PSI, and forward between the spool and the auger motor is a Prince cushion valve (also set at around 2800 PSI). My question is, do I need a relief valve on the other side or pump side of the spool valve? It would seem the spool relief would handle that side too. No? Yes? Maybe?
Would appreciate some sage advice. I'm a learning novice at hydraulics, not totally dumb, but a somewhat elementary explanation would help. Thanks in advance guys. memphismark
