Do I really need scarfires on a Grading Scraper?

That is great. I don't have rippers on mine either and do fine. I didn't comment earlier because I never used rippers and didn't know how big a benefit they are or would be in your particular conditions. My impression is, and only my impression, that rippers on a grading scrapper are most useful on lighter scrapers that are not heavy enough to start a cut on packed gravel. My blades are below the skids so I can put all the weight on the front blade by shortening the top link and it will cut any packed gravel I have come across. Once I get it started I can drop it back down flat.

Rippers on a box blade are a whole different thing and are very useful.
