Here's a small project for those with back problems like myself or those that just hate twisting around in the tractor seat. I just converted the fixed seat on my NH TC35 to a swivel seat. I used a swivel plate from a bar stool. It has stops built into it to stop full rotation and it has 2 return springs to bring it back to center. It has really helped me out. The swivel bracket from the NH dealer was around $400.00 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I picked up my parts for free and 4 hours later I can swivel. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That is just a great idea. I to will have a swivel seat on my Kubota in the near future. Thank you very much for the idea.

Now that is a cool modification!

I'd think a swivel plate from a boat seat would last longer, exposed to the elements, than one from a bar stool. Otherwise a real good idea. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It probably would last longer with a boat seat swivel. I keep my tractor inside all the time.I would think with the seat down and the bearings lubed up it should last for a long time. Only Time Will Tell

Geat idea, but do you get the urge reach for the draft control while swiveling around on that bar stool swivel? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great idea Pole Climber. I think this will go to the top of my list of must have projects. It would make snowblowing (rear mount) much less of a pain in the back.
Have you thought of adding a drink holder to the ROPS so when you swivel the bar stool ..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I already had a drink holder mounted on the fender. Thats why I needed the swivel seat. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

So does your drink holder swivel too?

I'm just curious if you also put any kind of 'lock' mechanism on the swivel, or does it swivel all the time?

I did not put a lock on yet. This swivel has built in stops at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. I wanted to try it without one first. So far it works good without one. When i'm grading the roads ,i'm constantly looking forward and back and it works out very well. I think it will be even better when I start using the rear mount snowblower. It saves reaching under the seat to lock and unlock the swivel.
