Yes it works for chipmunks. The SO is very upset that her little buddies have disappeared since I put out the mouse "feeders". However not upset enough to be willing to handle the mouse problem entirely on her own, which was my offer.

I learned the hard way what D-Con can do, we had a very nice cute Boxer puppy that I put in the garage one nice spring afternoon before leaving home, she got into some D-Con I had forgot I put under some shelving in there. Next morning was a not normal puppy---couldn't figure it out----nursed her one day and second morning took her to the vet---it was too late---they even tried a blood transfusion no help.

I still use D-Con---just put it where there is no chance if it gets forgotten that anything not intended to die can get at it.

For those that don't know how it works it eats away the intestines like battery acid eats clothing----it was a very very sad way to loose a pet.

Not saying not to use it---just respect what its made to do.

Please bear in mind that dogs can be very resourceful. I had put a box of decon under a radiator that had a large antique buffet in front of it. My dalmatian laid down, stretched a front leg under that and pawed around til he got hold of the box and pulled it out. Luckily I saw him as soon as he started eating it. I had put it there because I didn't think any of the dogs could possibly get to it. He could! I'm sorry to hear about the puppy. That's a tragic loss.

Once upon a time about 7 years ago I had 14 cats......No more squirrels and very few chipmunks. Down to nine cats now, we will see how good they are this summer.
