Bought complete outfit in 2000, 4600,MX6,4 in 1 bucket, standard bucket, pallet forks, paid extra for valving for 4 in 1, paid extra for chain guarding on brush hog. Paid off in Sept. 2005,on the very good John Deere credit plan. Broke MX6 main gearbox shaft 2 weeks after last payment. Absolutly no regrets, have used comercially for five years. In 2000, I paid extra for the chain guards, but the whole set-up was for commercial use.If your'e just doing field mowing, NOT commercial, RE: insurance liability, if you don't NEED the chain guards, don't spend the money, if for commercial use, give them the extra dough. Myself, I'm looking at a Montana, now that the the J.D. is paid off. Just a lot more features for the money. (Tried replacing the MX6 With a Land Pride mower) No comparsion where I'm concerned, J.D. MX series much tougher than Land Pride
