OkeeDon, you are so correct. Those hikers are just prey for the bears in the woods anyhow.

Besides, a thousand times more automobile drivers are killed by deer each year than hikers killed by deerhunters.

If the hikers are so afraid of getting killed by hunters during the short hunting season, you'd think they'd stay home all year long so not to risk getting killed by a deer on their car ride out for a hike! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

When I am out in the woods during hunting season I always wear something bright colored. Not necessarly Saftey Orange , but a bright color that cannot be mistaken for a deer !

I have heard too many hunters talking about shooting by ear. I told one that I hoped all of the hunters around him hunted the same way . Still did not get it...
I am not at all against hunting, just against stupid hunters.

How long is hiker hunting season, anyway? Are there different seasons for different "means" (i.e. guns, bows, poison granola bars, SUV's, etc). Is there an overpopulation problem with hikers? Do they have to thin the herds of hikers in Tennessee? Inquiring Ohioans want to know! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
