According to Albert Eisenstein and his theory of relativity with his mathematical equation's, he stated a hole threw the roof is better = less heat loss out of the building = less carbon footprint = less heat in the atmosphere that cause global warming, well there you have it, how can you disagree with Albert.

? Vaulted ceiling, is that like a culvert type roof, ? Squirrel cage fan, <<what, you have a trained squirrel to power a fan.....Also I'm still fascinated with that heat reclaimer, what do I need to make one, if it's easy to build I like to add one to my pipe, send me the blue prints so I can see if it's above my pay grade.

Sometimes you gotta wonder about ole Albert. He didn't even know how to comb his hair. I see no possible way a chimney leaving a stove and going straight up thru the roof could lose less heat than a chimney that has a horizontal run to dissipate heat before leaving the building?

I'm not sure Albert knew what a carbon footprint was?

Less heat into the atmosphere. Hmmmmm, maybe we need to offer some comparison numbers. Right now the top of my stove is 657F degrees. The top end of my chimney outside is 54F degrees. The outside temp right now is 15F degrees. Hmmmmm,,,,,,,, looks like I'm only dissipating 40F degrees of heat into the atmosphere??? Correct me if my math makes no sense.

Squirrel cage fan = small 120V squirrel cage fan plumbed into the ash box. If you have one small glowing ember of coals left you can stock the stove with wood, flip on that fan, and in a few minutes have a roaring fire.

Reclaimer = Built using 1/4"x2" pipe and 1/4" sheet metal. The inlet/outlet is made from 1/4"x2" flatbar bent into a circle. Build the box to your own size needs. Behind the reclaimer is a larger squirrel cage fan blowing air thru the tubes. Contributes dramatically to minimizing my heat loss into the atmosphere that Albert was worried about.

Vaulted ceiling = See attached pic.

Certainly none of this would be beyond your pay grade!!!! :)

Albert had a bad hair day every day, might of been the result of thinking to much. Nice big open shop there, is the fan hooked to the reclaimer or is air just indirectly blowing threw and over the stove the same time? When ever I'm bending flat bar round O, it always comes out like 0, for me probably be the hardest part of this 80 hr build, and by the looks of things your a squirrel fan fan.

The large fan is on a bracket off the back of the stove. There's an air gap between the output of the fan and the reclaimer. This allows me to remove the reclaimer for cleaning if needed.

Yep, making the rings for the top and bottom of the reclaimer were the most difficult part. I didn't have any pipe the right size.

Squirrel cage fans were the most logical for both applications.

I can't stress enough how valuable the small fan in the ash box is.
