If it sounds normal when you run it, maybe the internal pluming is limed up. Run a couple loads of CLR through it with hot water. Maybe that'll break up any calcium deposits. Worth a few bucks to find out.

How much CLR do you put in the dishwasher at a time?

She said she ran CLR a couple times, but could not tell me how much she put in.

She also said she ran Liquid Plumber in it. She said she used a big squirt of that. I'm not sure how much that is. LOL

Also check the filter. Water does not distribute that well if the filter is gunked up.

I didn't know the dishwasher had a filter if this is in response to my post.

Yep, I figured out the screen was the filter. I knew about the screen, I thought there may have been a filter I didn't know about

I put in a whole bottle, so probably 4 cups. Ran a full load setting with longest time possible. Turned off the heat dry, though. Then ran another load with just dishwasher detergent to make sure it was flushed out.

On a related note, we have an older Maytag dishwasher that is no longer cleaning the dishes. We have previously had to clean the holes in the arms.

Everything seems to be working as it should. Hard to tell what's going on with the door closed.

Any thoughts?

If the strainer is clean and the arm rotates... it could just be a building up of minerals or food particles... I have used CLR to loosen deposits...
