Do you have issues with your new Ford SuperDuty?

I've had 9 super duties with no major issues on any of them except the 6.7. I've had three 6.7's, 2 of them with the jackhammer during regen. Its an annoying issue but I think it has been taken care of without the valve replacement. Its a very rare issue and I will still buy ford again. The towing ability of the 6.7 is incredible, along with the engine brake. Cant wait to check out the 2017 with all the cameras.

So what did you end up paying and did you have a trade?

No trade-in. $50k +TTL (almost $14k below MSRP)
I first looked at autotrader.com, then called or visited several dealerships within about a 200 mile radius. Prices were all over the place. One local dealer, (where I've bought before) offered me a deal of $4750 off MSRP. That's the FORD discounts/rebates. I politely declined. There were a couple dealers in the Houston area that were advertising $12-13k off sticker. That was my starting point. Ended up at a dealer in Shreveport that told me they would match or beat anyone's deal. I sent the salesman a link to the best prices that I had found online, and they matched it.

I'm curious to learn if the 2017 models will have better steering response over rough roads...

The ratings for towing are impressive... up to 32,500 for gooseneck, 27,500 fifth-wheel, 21,000 conventional and up to 7,630 pounds of payload... max GCVW tops out at 41,800.

Maybe 440 hp with 925 pounds of torque is up to the task?

One question for those in the know... why would a gooseneck capacity be so much higher than fifth-wheel?

A local truck stop diner going way back is called the Fifth Wheel and I never understood what that meant as a kid going by.

And most 5th wheel trailers (that you would be towing with that truck) are campers which make great sails when you have a headwind or crosswind.

On big trucks, the fifth wheel is mounted close to the frame. Look at where a gooseneck hitch is mounted in a pickup and compare that to a fifth wheel hitch in a pickup. There is much less leverage on the gooseneck hitch.

As Oliver pointed out, the 5th wheel on a semi is much stronger and mounted directly to the frame.
I can pick up the entire hitch assembly that mounts in the bed of your pickup. The 5th wheel plate on my Kenworth probably weighs 400-500 pounds.

I looked at one Thursday. It's nice, but I don't like the price. Same equipment as the 2016 I just bought last month, but with a sales price of about $15,000 more than I paid. They probably would have traded with me for $20K.
Not worth it to me.
