Do you have nickname for your tractor?

Just trying to keep things on the lighter side. Do you have a "nickname" (a clean one) for your tractor? The Case 830 that I use mostly I call "Old Hard Case". Why......well.... because.... it's "hard" to start, hard to shift, hard to steer, hard to sit on, hard to get on and off of, etc. My neighbor has an old Belarus 825 that he calls "old Kruschev". Anybody else?

My Massey 1020 is referred to as The Little Massey as my dad has a Massey 1652. Its called The Big Massey. I call my Case Sc Old Abe after the name of the Eagle that Case used on all their equipment.

Money-Pit

I named my boat Money-Pit when we lived on the water.

The tractor is now my boat, so the name Money-Pit carried over.

My 2210 is "Max", named after the original owner. It's an interesting story, as my friend who is the salesman who sold the tractor to Max ultimately married his daughter! But sadly I found out earlier this year that real Max has ALS, and won't be with us much longer. I had always joked with my friend that someday he'd get the tractor back because it was part of the family, but since learning about real Max's battle with ALS, it has taken on new meaning.

So "Max" will go back to the son-in-law and the grandson. I really try to take good care of "Max", as I know I'm just the caretaker......I really like "Max", but I'm comfortable knowing where "Max" should be someday.

To lend credence to thinking that something things happen for a reason, shortly after I told my friend
that he just needed to let me know when he was ready for "Max" to come home, I had my 60th birthday. For years I've wanted my Grandfather's Ford Golden Jubilee tractor that I grew up on. It has been at my brother's house which is where my Grandfather lived, and hasn't been used since 1976. My brother really didn't want to give it up, and I don't blame him. But my wife talked my brother into letting her surprise me with it for my birthday! Absolutely the best birthday present I'll ever receive......

So I hope to start restoring "Wes", which was my Grandfather's name. Stay tuned, and tell Soundguy I'll probably lean heavily on his expertise in this leg of the journey. My goal is to get it in shape and hope to see "Wes" go back to my brother or one of my nephews or nieces after I'm gone.

Maybe there is something to this karma stuff......

When I bought my tractor about 20 years ago, a close friend and his wife started calling me Fred Ziffle, the Green Acres Character. It was not long before the tractor became Arnold, who was Fred Ziffle's pig. The tractor still goes by Arnold. Fortunately, Fred Ziffle did not stick for me!
