Good Evenin Hunterridgefarm,
Well I guess one of the benefits of living in the northeast is that in the winter is that you can concentrate on those indoor projects ! Although I havent really gotten into any woodworking projects like your walnut kitchen table I hope to before the snow melts ! Once spring hits then there are just too many things to do period ! ;) I have two homes to take care of, and that can get a bit crazy at times but we allways manage to get the important stuff done ! The last few days I have been working on all the wood raised panel doors and door frames in the Ct home, sanding and a coat of poly. Then I need to pull the carpet up on the second floor and install hardwood flooring, the kids are gone and the rugs are kind of rough... ;)

The list just goes on and on.....
And then there are the emergency jobs on the honey do list ! I think you get the idea.... So yes I do kind of prioritize, and of course the money issue has something to do with all of that planning ! :)

BTW I would enjoy seeing your walnut kitchen table when its done ! I built one out of white oak last year, I really enjoyed that project ! :)

Hello Scotty,

Post a pic of that table! My wife wants a country/antique table. I am thinking of using a hand plane to get the type of finish she wants. I am also thinking of putting an oak band around the table top, don't know yet. We went down to the pother farm we own and was searching thru the old barn and found some porch post that I plan on using for the legs of the table.

As far as working inside in the winter...I try to do as many inside projects as possible when the weather is bad. But there are several outside projects I have to do in winter due to me being allergic to bee stings. One is clearing between the rows of boxwoods we grow. I have around 600 and yellow jackets love to build nest in the rows of boxwoods. I also have several lots that I need to bushhog in winter especially if I get behind in the summer, which I did this year due to building the house.

That is another reason we went to the second farm this weekend. There are several buildings we don't go into in the summer due to wasp/yellow jackets, etc. While going thru one section of the old barn I found some cresote beams that I need to get in the next few weeks for the potting shed I plan on building my wife. I knew they were there but had forgotton about them over summer.

Have to have 5 plus going at anytime, some are seasonal.
Bought $1200 worth of stone August to wrap the 4 carport columns, but then bow season came in (she hates fall, cause I am hunting 24/7)

Have a 50' antenna tower laying in the yard from craigs list, have to have it up before the "digital TV switch"

She gave an ultimatum (sp), Have the masonry heater built by next Oct 31st or she is buying one of those electric plug in fire places !!

Have about 10 more fruit trees I want in this spring

Raised beds built for the garden

Kayak racks

Batting cage for the 2 boys before spring

work bench and shelves in the basement

So the real queston is:
Should we post the projects here in the rural forum, or in the projects forum??
