Do you replace your old plastic fuel cans due to age?

Some use a golf T to plug the vent hole... seems to help.

Don't know if it's been mentioned or not but I see a lot of complaints on the problematic EPA type spouts that the gubberment has forced down all of our throats. You know the things that make spilling fuel a certainty making an imaginary problem worse. Well there is a solution. EZ-POUR Universal Fuel & Water Jug Spout

TSC carries them and they even have really long spout extensions that make fueling my tractor a lot easier since the fill cap is way up on the top of the hood. Now all the fuel goes into the tank instead of all over the place and I can actually use what were once a bunch of largely useless gas cans.

I've never had a can leak and never replaced one. I have added several cans since the new regs went into place and have retrofitted all with flex spouts and vents. That No-Spill can looks promising but never tried one.

ALL the other EPA cans I tried were not usable. Would dispense gas so slow it gave me back pains trying to hold it and leaked gas everywhere in the process. Some stupid SOB needs to be hung for those stupid regulated cans. Did I mention I think they are STUPID?

I'd bet they all have BA degrees in basket weaving too.

"Do you replace your old plastic cans due to age?"

I replaced my old plastic cans with a big tank (diesel) because of MY age (tired of dumping in fuel via can):D

Using the info I got from this site, I went to Tractor Supply and purchased a replacement spout for my Diesel new style "glug-glug" plastic container and the spout came with an air vent which installed perfectly with a drilled hole in the container. It even came with 2 spouts, one with a large opening (for the Diesel) and one with a smaller opening (for gas). It says for a water container, but works well with fuels.

They're illegal for fuel in some states, like PRM and CALIFORNIA, WASHINGTON D.C., DELAWARE, MARYLAND, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, or VIRGINIA"… so they are for "water."

As I buy new I buy metal "safety cans" Have three. I vent the "EPA" cans and use the replacement nozzles. You pollute more with the EPA cans spilling everywhere. Idiotic.

I agree with all of you guys trying to avoid the epa cans. I have spilled enough gas and diesel to make a pyromaniac happy... If I get burned up I'm keeping good documentation for a good lawsuit. I put vents in everything so the can doesn't suck itself flat and actually pour right. Your old spout will work faster if you drill a 1/2" hole and put a shrader valve (without the core) in. I have found that some of the Tractor Supply spouts have caps that don't fit their own spout. My back just can't take holding a 5 gal can for an hour waiting for it to pour. Normally I don't try to defeat emissions control and recycle my oil etc... The new cans just suck; they're dangerous and I'm sure more gas goes to the environment.

I lover my multi-fuel tractor, it runs great on the red 'off road water'.

You can buy replacement spouts at Tractor Supply that aren't EPA compliant, but conveniently fit both old and new cans....just saying!

If a can isn't leaking, keep using it.

Those (Ez Spout) didnt fit 2 of my 5 cans.. Too small.
