^^ True, but I just use fence wire. No special stuff. Everybody has extra fence wire, right?

Right. I do anyway - that's what I was thinking of using.

I've never had the problem, but you've now prompted me to go out and check how tight all of mine are. Next year, I'll probably put some loctite on them.

Well I have never had the problem before either but this is the first year I've used the tractor to do a lot of plowing. And it has been an icy year. Maybe that is the difference ?? On snowy or hard packed woods roads pulling wood I almost never spin a tire but pushing back frozen snow banks on the sides of icy roads is different I am finding out. I have a better feel now and can do the same work w/o spinning but it was a learning curve for me.

I use mechanics wire to wire mine. I also put a screw clevis on the adjuster arm to keep it closed as an extra precaution.

Why would you NOT?.... A hour spent safety wiring can probable save many hours of grief out in the cold white stuff.....
