Tractor under a tarp. Rotary cutter, box blade and FEL outside using the same elements as firemanpat.
I'm planning a pole barn. Start date keeps getting backed up by petty little things money, but I'm shooting for this fall. Will be very simple. Three ten foot bays across the front, 20' deep, open on all four sides. Using 6x6 pt posts. Will have 12 feet of clearance on front and 9 at the back. The only way I could get funding from the CFO was to make one of the bays into a stall for the horse, which in my opinion is a capital waste of tractor/implement storage, but what can you do?
And, I've never built anything of substance that I designed. I built my log cabin myself but it was a kit. So, I suspect I'll over build this thing, but I'll be looking for advice from this august group in the next few months.

Stuff that has moving parts: Inside on pallet rack. Stuff w/o moving parts outside.
exposed Cylinders: inside. As on my BH and rear blade.
Driveline/ gear cases: inside. as on mower and tiller
spinning disk: outside. as on disk harrow
Tractor: inside. unless return to use <24 hr.
semi-moveable: outside. as on the KK rear rake.
Stuff that is seasonable such as mower, tiller is on the pallet rack until in use, will be cleaned and maintained prior to being replaced on rack in fall.

The 4' bush hog is outside and the PHD is dangling from a tree limb but everything else, tractor, FEL, box blade, sprayers, spreader, are all kept in the attached garage. It's not fully enclosed but it keeps the weather off them. My wife tells me that I need to get them all out of there but until I can get the storage building up, there they will stay. I've put my foot down and as long as she agrees, that's the way it will be.

Everything inside a 40'x8'x9.6' conex (metal ocean container). Wind and weather tight and somewhat secure.
Bought this thing for about $1700 and $225 to have it delivered. I could not put up a barn or building this size and as secure for that price.
Look up Chassis King - for more information. I can say that I'm really happy with this storage solution.
On a side note, I do know these are going up in price due to the US gov buying a LOT of new ones and shipping them to Iraq and the like for storage for military items. These formerly were about $500-$800 but now probably are up in the $2000-$2500 range.
If anyone wants more info, let me know.
