Well, for me, with my job taking me to a different place in the country every day, I wanted to have the entire country in there, USA48, Canada, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and even Nova Scotia are in there if I remember correctly. Right off hand, I dont' remember if Hawaii is included or not... but I've got the whole thing stored.

It takes a little over 1.5GB for my Legend Cx, so you'll need a 2GB memory chip to get all of City Navigator in there.

If you don't travel very far or often, then there's nothing wrong with only loading the maps that you think you'll be needing... but, with the price of memory chips these days, why not get enough to load the whole thing? No real reason not to... and, then it's there if you were to ever need it quick.

Brian I actually took your advice purchasing a 2 gig SD card over the weekend and loaded the whole shootin-match into the Garmin. Thanks for the suggestion

If you visit TX I can give you some addresses (way points) to TBN members there. :D
Sure is a indispensable tool.

Well that's Cool!! I was down there at your place back in August for recurrent/upgrade, and, I got my LR-JET type rating... I fly the LR-55 mostly, every once in a while (thankfully:p), the 35. I'm a big ol' Midwest farm boy, so you'd understand if you saw me why I'm happy about not flying the 35 very often;).

You guys do a real nice job with the training.

Are you on any certain aircraft, or do you work all of them?

So maybe you understand my username on here then...?;)

Thanks Brian. I work on all the ground schools at some level. The graphic artist that does all the cockpit art works for me. Also any revision to a ground school comes across my desk. The Learjet 55 ground school has just been revised and you should have seen the new ground school in August. And yes...I do understand your username. Does that mean you're always above the point of rejection?;)

Ron Hall: With the waypoints you set, does that mean PineRidge will be turning the wrong way by the Sunset Cemetery?:D

Yep, started down the runway, reached that magic (or is it frightening?) point where you've gotta go flying now no matter what, even if we have big problems, got to keep it in the air and clear the mountains ahead. Or else.

;)

Kind of "A pilot's perspective on life."

See, that right there is why I prefer to drive.

I used to fly a bit myself, but my motto for the past 15 years is:

I would rather be on the ground wishing that I was in the air

than in the air wishing that I was on the ground.

NOTE: After using the Garmin StreetPilot 7200 for a bit more than a week the display went completely blank. Called Garmin and we tried to reboot the GPS unsuccessfully. It's now on it's way back to Garmin International in KS. Guess you gotta keep your sense of humor with these electronic gadgets.
