The Garmin Nuvi. I bought one with European maps for a trip through Germany and Switzerland this summer. The maps and directions were dead on! Better yet, I was able to record my highest speed while on the Autobahn.

I just bought two of the almost same unit - sans the UK maps - for my sons from Costco online. $600 unit for $318 shipped. Built in batteries, wide screen, voice, and the same great map database. I have only run into one street - turn right, turn left - even though the the road has been straight for several years that has not been updated.

I think that you will be impressed with the Garmin, I am. Great battery life also for walk around use. I used it along with the BMW Nav System in Germany, the two "women" direction givers agreed on almost everything, except getting into Munich. Nothing like being in a car with two arguing women...

By the way, I think my wife is jealous that I let the Garmin Girl constantly tell me where to go.
