I also have grabbed hot metal without a glove after I got done welding. I've burned my hand many times doing that. Though not bad.

I hate when that happens.. I was working in the blacksmith shop, making a hook or something. I had left the piece on the anvil while went to get something. About 10 seconds later, the piece had stopped glowing, and me forgetting it was hot picked it up:ashamed:. Well A little piece of my hand actually cooked, and when I stuck it in the water, it was steaming:mad:... Not fun...

Yep, burns are one of the worst kinds of pain. :(

Yep! I was welding up a prototype part today. Grabbed it to reposition. Didn't know I had worn a 1/8" diameter hole in the thumb of my welding glove.
BRANDED! So hot it just seared the skin a funny looking tan color. Needless to say, I turned it loose in a hurry!

A guy walked into the shop and picked up a part off the welding table. Instantly dropped it. Welder laughed and asked "Is it hot?" Guy said," No, just doesn't take me long to look at one of those!"
