I’m replacing my ac compressor. Got the compressor, o-rings, receiver drier…just need to know if this tractor takes an orifice tube. Any info is appreciated.
A system with a drier uses a TXV (expansion valve) on the high side. A system with an accumulator uses an O-tube on the low side. Your ans should be...no. What made the compressor fail ? You want to be SURE the problem is corrected so as not to ruin the new compressor. If there was trash pumped thru the system, you have a more to buy and more work ahead of you.
Thanks for the info. It’s getting replaced because the front seal failed. I noticed one day a while back there was some oil under the hood and I should of further investigated it before running it but didn’t so ran it dry…my bad. I appreciate your help though. I’m putting it all back together tomorrow. I need to get some stuff done with it.
Replacing the drier is good. As long as the system is clean, you should be ok. You need to make an educated guesstimate to restore the correct amount of oil.
