Bill, While I certainly remember that ad, I'm not sure which cell phone service it promotes. If the ad sticks, but the sponsor doesn't, what's the point?

Agreed Pete, I don't even have a cell phone (other than the one work makes me have) I just meant to prove how this junk sticks in the back of your mind-even though you don't want it to. It's crammed at you 24/7 and we probably don't realize it.

Of the lines you listed, the only one that doesn't mention the name of the product that I can link to a particular product is KFC. And of all those ad campaigns, I can't think of one that actually got me to try something. I drive a Chevy truck because you can find replacement parts in junkyards everywhere. Like Bird, I'm more likely to permanently boycott a product after a particularly offensive ad. And again, if I can't even remember which product was advertised, what's the point? I've been thinking on this for a couple of days, and the only brand loyalty I have is to Windex and Duracell batteries.

Very good, but are you buying these things? Thats what the companies want to know. Hopefully for them, your doing more then remembering their jingle. Kathy Rigby used to advertise for feminie protection. She would say, "I don't talk about femine protection more then anyone else" That always struck me as odd since up until right now, I never talked about it and she was doing it many times a day for weeks on end. While I remember the ad, I have yet to buy or need their products. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So maybe THAT explains why I have a closet full of boxes of feminine protection.

Now I'm off to talk to my doctor about Zolox, Livitra, and Lipitor. Don't know what they are, but I'm pretty sure I need them.

And aerosol product called "Invisible Glass" from the automotive section of Walmart works better much than Windex for me and my wife. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I do still usually use Duracell batteries for most things, but way back when I worked nights and used lots of flashlight batteries, I found that Rayovac batteries lasted a lot longer. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

( Commercials to me now-a-days mostly seem to say "be stupid like the person in our commercial and buy our product." )

You mean,
"join our Idiots Club - if you call in the next 15 minutes, we'll take off one of the $19.99 payments. Also, if you call now we'll include FREE an XYZ mixing bowl set. SEE? they nest together so you save space.
CALL 1-800-xxx-xxxx. call now"

Is that what you mean? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( RaT, I try to buy something other than the annoying ads, no matter what. That's just me and I'm sure many other people are the same.)

That's the truth.
I really LOATHE the local "homemade" looking commercials that are loud, corny, poorly edited. Such as: " the '"Weekend Sale" at ABC Ford.' You know the type, where each salesman tries to out loud, out annoy the previous salesman.
I guess they'll sell any idiot a camcorder! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

These guys that do this will never get any of my business!
