I was wondering if anyone here ised a reciprocating spader with their Kioti, which model of Kioti they use, which kind of spader they use, and where you got the spader?

Many thanks.

Ok I'll take a long shot here on this one. I do believe you mean a what is called a rototiller, power harrow,or the trade name of the Howard Rotovator.

The best one out there is the Howard.

Check with your dealer for short-line brands. There are many different ones out there. Most seem to come from Spain or Italy.

Nope, not a rototiller. Something that looks like this: Spader images

Interesting, never seen one of those before. Does it just vertically chop into the ground. Well from the HP requirements for the one pictured you would require a DK40 or larger Kioti to run it.

Hhhmmmm.....interesting machine. It looks to me that it does basically the same as a powerharrow, but the shovels can deflect when they hit something that would break off a tine.

Try http://www.ferrari-tractors.com/index.html for an introduction to what a spader is, why it is supposedly better than a rototiller, how it reduces the hardpan layer commonly created by a rototiller and how it reduces soil depletion commonly created by a rototiller. They also, no supprize, sell them.

In theory, a given tractor can run a bigger spader than rototiller. Having never seen, much less used, a spader, all I can do is report what I have read.

I was mildly intreagued by the concept of a spader behind a walkbehind tractor until I remembered how bad a walkbehind tiller beat me up and read that a spader is even worse. Definately a nitch market.
