Well, "red" is probably a stretch for an orange tractor, but for now I'm going to go with "Red Dwarf." /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well, it's a machine...no gender, but a trusty machine.
Do you name your stove? Iron? Lawn Mower?

So, it's just "the tractor" or "the Deere".

Guess I'm not a romantic...

But, I gotta admit...I do talk to it.."hi Tractor"....stuff like that.

"Tractor", or "the Kubota", per routine. Like a number of other posts, my "name of the day" for the tractor varies on performance that day, sometimes good, and sometimes - well, this is a family net site. Admittedly the tractor (L3410) has always worked fine (except for the usual Kubota FEL control foibles on occasion), doesn't complain, and usually puts up with the idiot driving it (me).

Well, mine got named for me some time shortly after I got it. At the time, the CFO was not overly thrilled with the purchase (she has since made a complete change of opinion), and I was bringing home new bits for it a couple of times a week.

The CFO asked, "So does the tractor have a name?"

I replied, "Of course it does, it's called The Tractor."

"No", she replied, "it needs a name, we're going to call it Barbie because you bring home a new accessory every day! How many accessories does that thing have? You've got the Malibu mower already and Woody the Chipper is on the way."

I tried to explain that they're call implements, not accessories, and they didn't need names of their own. Might as well tried to convince her that one pair of shoes is plenty.

So I'm stuck with a tractor named Barbie, the Malibu Mower, and Woody the chipper.

Long winded way of saying, name your tractor before somebody does it for you...

You can always tell the CFO that Barbie, Malibu and Woody are getting lonely.
