Tractor
Mahindra 6110
The PA-JD5HY has the green lid and doesn't say Universal.

The PA-HY5HY has the black lid, and it says it's Universal.

The tractor is a Mahindra 6110.

I'm going to be servicing the tractor for my dad, and I would like to use the better fluid of these two.

After watching this video, the specs on the Rural King fluid doesn't seem to be that much better or worse than the competitors that are often recommended on this forum.

Thanks for any help.

Is it a gear tractor...or HST? I'm not familiar with your brand/model of tractor.
Hydraulic oil and Transmission Hydraulic oil are different. You want to be concerned that you're using the correct spec'd oil for the application....

No rural King in my area but I’m quite certain the Green lid is specd for John Deere tractors. We do have a Blains and they have their house brand THF and for about $2-3 more Per 5 gal pail they have the JD specd . Not sure if there’s much difference in the two , Kinda doubt it. I’ve been using traveller premium and now Blains also since they opened here few years ago. Been using these two brands for at least 30years in many different tractor makes and never had a THF related issue. Main thing keep it clean and filtered , if you see any signs of contamination especially water change it out ASAP.
