Does Anyone Make A Good Quality Sprinkler Anymore?

Always wanted to do that and may someday but living on the side of a mountain the ground is full of rocks from football to 60s Vista Cruiser sized. Putting stuff in the ground, especially in a specific location is a challenge.

For the foreseeable future we will be dragging hoses and moving sprinklers. I quite like the tractor style that follows the hose for the lawn but it’s a little too heavy for the missus to drag up and down the hill.

The old Nelson tractor sprinkler I have used for years is heavy, but only has to be moved every 8 hours on a 100' traveling hose.
I also drove a 69 Vista Cruiser as my first car, so you must have some large rocks!

Aluminum irrigation pipe. I toted plenty of that as a scrawny kid. I recently found a few sections of 4” still connected together running through my woods. Light as a feather but wait for a wind gust to tweak a wrist.

Yeah, they aren’t that heavy. But the felt heavy as a kid, and really heavy when they were full of water that needed to be drained. That was the daily work out at my Dads and Uncles ranch/farm. Moved those pipes every summer, every day for most of my growing up years.

I use our arena sprinkler system on the yard when needed. Not cheap but well worth it. Does a 70' X 200' strip at a time.

I have one of those Nelson yellow tractor sprinklers. With the hose set just right - do the whole front yard. And if you forgot - it would come to the end - jump the hose and head on out for the great unknown.

I would look at estate sales. The same for gardening hand tools. Having said that, I prefer when my grass doesn't grow. I would never water it.

True, the grass is just making a start but the weeds are well into it already.
