Well after I found out no dealer supports mahindra in my area anymore I found a 2011 5085m with 760 hours. Approved by my bank but before I pull the trigger I just wanna ask one more time if anything has anything bad to say about these tractors. I'm always aprehensive when I go to spend a lot of money an I'm sure the first month or so I'll feel sick. So basically I'm trying to find someone to talk me out of it.

My neighbor has one. I believe his is a 12. Had a few issues when he first go it. His was the first year of tier 4. Other then the few issues he's been real happy with it. I spent a ton of time researching the m and e series. In the end I went with the e. If money wasn't a problem I would have bought the m. I would check to see if that tractor has any of the emission stuff on it. If it doesn't have it, that's another plus.

They also haave a 5085e but the loader didn't look as heavy duty. I think it was a 553 loader? It did have the 3rd loader valve I believe tho. Whhich would be noce if I ever wanted to add a grapple

I got my e with a h260 loader and 3rd function. The m has a little more hydrulic output. I think 2 or 3 GPM more. It also has a electronic 3 point. I take it the 85e is a 13 or 14? They can put the better loader on the e. What do they want for the m compared to the e?

They have 0% on the e's for 5 years right now. I couldn't find much info on the new 85e's. They just started making them in 13. Took the place of the 83e. The m and the new e's are lot closer in comparison now. What's your plan for the tractor?

We have a small cattle farm. Move hay mainly. Raking tedding. Bush hoggings. I have a 5055d right now an we bale 4x 5 bales. But looking to upgrade to a 5x6 baler so I'm gonna upgrade my utility tractor also

Either tractor would do a great job. I think you'll find the economy pto usefull. As long as the m is in good shape and you don't mind a used machine, I think you'll be very happy with it. They could add a 3rd remote for you. What trans was in the m?

I agree. I also like the dual speed pto. We have a couple older implements that are 1000 rpm

U were right 0% on the e models. An they have a 5085e with the 3rd loader function like I want. But I made a mistake an stopped by the kubota dealer. They have 0% too an the salesman nearly sold me on a 8560 on the spot

I was in the same spot a couple moths ago. After sitting in both tractors and really looking them over good, I felt the JD was the better tractor for me. I could of bought a 8540 for a lot less then the deer. It had been sitting on the lot for awhile. Wasn't impressed how faded all the paint was for a new tractor. I also feel the JD cab is laid out nicer. Let's hope I made the right choice, feel like a guinea pig with 85e. Not much info on such a new tractor.
