We have a large POA with 26 miles of one lane dirt roads and a number of blind curves. The roads are surrounded by pine and wild growth. There are at least 10 mirrors that have been there for some time and there have been no problems. They are convex and I believe the most recent ones were purchased from Grainger.

Dennis,
Thanks for the info, do you know what size they are? The one that was put up is 30" and I am told by the neighbor who installed it he is getting comments that it is too small. I think as people get used to its location they will get used to the size.

If concentrating the light makes a hot spot, why doesn't spreading out the light make a cold spot?

:)

Bruce

Well.....It sort of does. The cold spot is behind the mirror. It's called shade.

We have one at the entrance to see cars approaching from the other direction (which is otherwise blind). Had to put it up pretty high so we could see it over winter snow banks. Does the job.

20x30" Acrylic outdoor. Be sure and order an outdoor mirror, more metal.

Garandman,

Thanks, I don't think anyone has thought of a rectangular mirror just the round. I'm sure the one that was installed was an outdoor mirror, we will see how it holds up this winter. Yes it was placed high enough he used his wheeled self propelled boom lift to install it.
