Does LS have the highest rated GEL lifting capacity?

Good info. I knew there was more to the story but I also knew that the 3 tractors I was comparing, had the ratings listed in the same way; at max height, from pivot pins. This video filled in the gaps for me. Also worth noting, I did not just look at the number on the brochure. I went and looked at the construction of the loaders in person, and the LS loader was obviously a much more beefy construction than Kubota or Mahindra. After seeing the differences in person, I had no problem believing that the LS was a more capable loader, even if the numbers don't tell all. I took some videos of comparison and planned to upload them to YouTube but I accidentally deleted the one for Mahindra so if I decide it's worth my time, I may go look at the Mahindras again and make another.

One thing that I am not pleased with on the LS loader, is that it seems very hard to actuate tilt and lift at the same time. RPM must be almost max to do it at all, and even then, you must have a feather touch and move both functions at creep speed.

What counts is how high they can lift and LS has one of the lowest lift heights of all.

That is a good point, the lower the lift height the surprising amount more the lift is. So it all has to be factored in.

Personally I get puckered up lifting 2000+ lbs even though I do it regularly. I never lift it any higher than required and then only when stable and level. A heavy weight up high can put you on your side in a heartbeat if unstable.

Mine is 2761 @ the pins to full height. Full height is 108".

But I can lift an IBC tote with 300 gal of water on pallet forks - that's about 2900 lbs total. Can get it off the ground and a few ft up in the air which is all i need for that - wouldn't want to take that to full height even if it could. I think that's pretty good since weight is distributed out on the forks out to 40".

My previous machine (LS) was rated for 1270 @ the pins, yet couldn't budge the same tote with same pallet forks at more than about 65-70 gal in it - barely 1,000 lbs.

Every machine is slightly different, and the way specs are advertised isn't always as easy as "what is says on spec sheet is what it will do in real life" - esp when specs are ambiguous. Is the rating at pins or some distance forward where the load will actually be? Is the rating for what it can lift a foot off the ground or what it can lift to full height? Pretty much anything with its factory bucket can take a full scoop of material - even something dense and wet - and handle it. So not a big issue unless you need to lift something else like using pallet forks. Then you really see the "@pivot pins" being a poor spec since everything will perform much differently the further out you get.

I really notice that with my rock bucket since it's longer than my regular bucket. That gives a real good illustration of I can lift so much in the normal bucket, but not as much in the rock bucket since it's putting it lot farther out from the pins. Also lifting nearly full IBC totes off my trailer over the side rails. If the tote is turned "sideways" I can put the forks above it, run chains under it and over the forks, and lift it (not full, but say around 275 gal). However, if the totes are on the trailer "long ways" that extends the weight another 8" and I'm probably going to have to let some water out.

Is that a 4wd tractor? A friend tried to steer me toward New Holland but I was immediately turned off because the closest dealer is 135mi from me. Now that I think about it though, with the minimal amount of hours I'll be putting on it, the dealer distance shouldn't have been as big of a factor as I made it.

I like LS so my post is not a knock on them or to persuade you from them but I'll add to the Workmaster having one.

Turby's review's of his is what helped me decide on a Workmaster almost a year ago. The loaders on them are very Stout and no misleading ratings like some other manufacturers. Same as 3pt lift, some manufacturers are showing what it will lift but if you look they don't list where that weight lift capacity is at.

This bale is 1100 lbs not near max weight, but easily lifts it full height at idle.

Not sure what this stump weighed but it filled a 72" grapple, grapple weighs 750lbs by itself. The 621 loaders are very strong.

Yes...4WD and weighs 5K pounds... With loaded rears it was north of 6K pounds...

The loaders are 1800 lbs also. They are close to 9k lbs rigged out. Heavy little suckers!
