im amazed at how many people still need to ask the question if something is a scam over the internet. People still ask questions if a 50k dollar john deere for sale for 20k is a scam. I guess some people never heard the old saying..... if it sounds to good to be true, .........

yup.... i knew it was a scam. i went thru so many of those when i was looking to buy the horse trailer and sell my old tractor. It sent me away from ebay for these purchases and sales. I ended up getting a great deal on new trailer thru licensed dealer out of state...incl free delivery.

I was only able to sell my tractor after i insisted on cash only and thay the buyer HAS to meet me to look over tractor. that got rid of all the scammers.

These hijacked ebay accounts steal the respond to link email address by changing it to their own anonymous account after seizing the account.

I used to email the seller asking to see the unit, and was always told there in either a ebay secure storage facility (which do not exist) or back east (when they find out im out west). i then email them that my BIL lives about 50 miles from you, can he come look at it. That usually ends the emails.

That's what I do also. I ask where is item located at. And say my son is a truck driver and just happens to be in your area tomorrow. Give me the address and he will stop by. That's the last you hear of them. I guess its in all of us to hope we can snag a real "jewell". Hoping that the seller doesn't know what it is worth. Right now there is a Honda 20 Hp generator with a Leroy Somer head, only 320 hours. for around $1,150. A $3000. generator. I just cant convince myself I need another generator.

Anytime you see sellers trying to work outside Ebay, with things like "My Terms Of Sale" in it.. Run AWAY! Run Fast! Its almost a guarantee its a fake.

And notice how all that crap about contacting him before bidding and his terms of sale, and his email address are all a .png image? That makes it MUCH harder for eBays automated systems to detect that hes redirecting, another give away.
