Does tractor cab help with the noise level?

My hearing has degraded with age, I wear hearing aids and use Bluetooth headphones with noise suppression when operating any machinery. They help, but I have to turn the music volume way up and it's still very noisy. Would a tractor cab offer any protection worth the expense? Willing to consider buying new tractor if OEM is significantly better.

My cabbed M is quiet enough to run without hearing protection and I can listen to the radio at normal volume

I can talk on the phone while bush hogging. I do use a bluetooth headset with noise canceling to listen to music so I'm sure that helps some.

Overall, with noise, dust and bugs a cab is the best tractor investment I've made.

Looking at your location, snowblowing isn't on the list. The cab keeps the noise level quite low. The AC would be most welcome in your heat, along with no bugs or dust.

Yes,a cab helps, but not all cabs are created equal. Some do a better job than others, and aftermarket cabs are more for weather protection than nvh control, in my experience.

Oh yeah I does! I was against a cab for many different reasons, but I am so happy I got one now. Dust, snow, noise, bugs, all stay outside. Inside, I can hear the tractor (obviously) but it's not deafening. I listen to podcasts while out working using the cab speakers. I dread the backhoe, getting out and on that thing to dig something, mostly due to the noise, bugs, and heat. The cab is not perfect, its tall, and made of glass. But for me, I am very happy I got the 'C' on the end of my tractor model. :thumbsup:

I have both. M9000 cab and M9000 open station. The OS tractor compared to the cab unit is like being in a machine shop with every machine running full blast. I'm continually amazed at the difference. Cabs aren't good for every circumstance however, why I have both.

The distinct disadvantages are.. Will it fit in your storage space, not an issue with me, mine are in the barn and two and most importantly, if your property is wooded, you'll quickly dislike the cab. Wooded lots and cabs don't get along well and crashes will be expensive.
