Does tractor cab help with the noise level?

My cab turned work into relaxation. It is not as quiet as I expected but it is much quieter than an open station tractor. The biggest difference is AC and no dust. I can bush hog all day get off the tractor and go to dinner. With my open station I need a shower to wash off the dust.

Along with the refrigeration come another aspect, maintenance. All that dust and debris outside, some of it gets inside, inside the ac unit (past the cabin filter) and the ac unit will eventually need cleaned and most aren't really accessible easily and then there is the issue of refrigerant and refrigeration components so having a cab is nice but the long term care of them is much more involved.

me, I have both. Sometimes an open station is better, sometimes a climate controlled cabin is better. All depends on the situation.

In my Kubota cab, I turn on the AC, turn on my favorite music channel and I hardly hear the engine unless I'm doing high RMP work

My cab Deere 4720 is really quiet even mowing at 2400 rpm, air suspension seat, the radio is on - life is good.

Cabs are not created equal as is hearing aids are not equal. Some people with hearing aids have issues with a room full of people talking while other's are not. Some cabs are quieter but have a low rumble echoing buffeting noise that you may not enjoy. The best thing to do are test drives at pto rpm.

My LS cab is very quiet and after 10 years of ownership, everything still works and looks new. It is very tolerant of limbs brushing the sides and tops. Only thing that happens is the mirrors get knocked back against the door but no damage. It does make it difficult to open the doors with them folded backward. Much better for a limb to brush the cab than to brush me.

Yes, that happens to mine also, a minor issue.

Was doing some bush hog work yesterday. Yup, mirrors get pushed around, minor detail. Sooner that than getting beat up and poked in the eye with branches. Do enough ducking and dodging while mowing. My old Deines mower design doesn't fit well for a screen cage.

My last hearing test was -90 dBc. Cab will reduce it but even with the JD "Sound Guard" cab, late 1970 issue on mine, it was noisy. Radio is a joke on it and current Branson. Hearing aids are a joke for me. Pick up everything but what you want to hear; wind especially a nuisance. On the auto adjust, the difference between hear and mute was too tight a band. Have had half a dozen pair, thousands invested, fancy digital this and that. Waste of time and money. I can get along just fine without them.
