I just creep forward with the HST to keep the auger vertical as it digs down. Usually works fine.
That is an old report...1996. I believe that the original issue was iron remnants (remains of steel belts) that got wet, oxidized and heated up, setting the rubber on fire. Not really an issue these days as technology is better at removing the steel and people are better at keeping stores dry.Road burns.

They tried some rubber roads here.... they caught on fireI haven't seen rubber either but certainly sounds interesting, recycled tyres are used for road resurfacing to playground surfacing, much different density between the two with the latter being soft, feels like walking on a firm sponge, idea was to save little arms and legs from breaking when falling off equipment, road surfacing is mixed with other materials.
