Does your FEL quick couplers +have dust covers ?

Alan, my second TC 24D with 12LA loader came with colored dust covers for the FEL quick disconnects. My first one lacked them but was surprised to see them on the new one. I also recently received a recall notice for the 12LA loader. It stated it had a serious flaw that could cause death and injury. I have not checked the serial number in question yet but It seems that New Holland is taking the problem serious enough that they have issued a recall for the loaders.

Does NH use the same size quick couplers for most of their front end loaders ? I will have to stop by my TSC store in Canton to see if they have any dust covers. This is my first FEL and I think it is important to keep the dirt out of the quick couplers.

The TSC store on Rt.21 is about 3 miles from my house. I travel Rt.21 pretty much of the time. I live just south of Rt 30.

Mine came with dust covers but they don't lock in anymore. They just fall out so I don't use them.

I looked at TSC for the caps for my 1220, they only had 1/2" and my lines appear to be 3/8.

Because the four lines are grouped together on the tractor, I found a disposable latex glove is a good solution, well, better than nothing on there. You can cut the fingers off to cover the male end. They sell those gloves in boxes of 100 at Harbor Freight for about $4.

One of my 5 gallon gas cans has lost its spout cap. When I pull a glove over that to prevent splashing, I have to be careful which finger I use. The sloshing gas develops pressure and inflates the glove! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif No really, it does!!
