My B6100 sounds the same clutch in or out, and it has over 2200 hours on the clock.
Does your HST rattle?

Check the transmission range lever. Sometimes on my B2710 I will hear the lever rattling against the sides of the sheet metal slots that indicate which range you are in. This usually only happens when I am bush-hogging on rough ground and then it is just intermittent. Just a guess because mine does not make noise otherwise.
