My L4200 doesn't, I don't think,
how about these newer machines, do they have brake lights.

I'm just guessing, but I think you have to get up to a full size utility tractor before they expect it to be on the road. My 75hp Mahindra has brake lights, but my 32hp Mahindra does not. ;)

It barely has brakes, no brake lights ;)

I don't know if it's an option in the us but most tractors such as Heston or fiat have brake lights turn signals I think it might be required in some European countries.

Interesting question that I hadn't thought much about. FWIW, our 2014 Kioti NX series with cab came pretty tricked out, and it doesn't have brake lights. I think there is a kit available, with included fuse, relay and brake switch. Another TBN member has recently installed it on his new NX6010. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-buying-pricing/315694-my-nx6010-6.html (see post #59)

With HST on a tractor, I find I rarely use the brakes to slow down, so I'm not sure how helpful brake lights would be to drivers following on the road. For towing a trailer with brake lights, though, I think the relay and switch kit would be good to have.

Major correction. :duh: My bad. Should have double-checked. Our NX4510HST Cab actually does have brake lights, turn signals, warning lights, etc. Sorry for the misinformation.

My Rhino has brake lights, turn signals, high and low beams and front side marker lights with turn signals - but my ford just has single beam headlights, dash light and no brake or turn signal lights . the lights and signals are nice - especially when helping a friend who lives down the road.

My L3200 has turn signals, HI & LO beam headlights, tail lights and flashers. No brake lights, but about the only time I use the brakes is to hold a position on a hill.

Same on the DK-40 with turn signals and emergency flashers.

AND more important to me is the big red parking brake lamp on the dash. I jumped on the BIL's Kubota L3200 yesterday (I did the 50 hour service on it) and I notice the hydro whine was really loud. I was thinking, man I don't really remember the hydro whine being that loud before.. The dang parking brake was engaged..I figured it out in about 20 foot, but still it was embarrassing.

ISO 16154 specifies tractor lighting requirements. Although it is an International Standard, not every country has adapted it but in Europe it is demanded. Depending on cost, companies may build to the standard for all nations they supply just to make assembly, quality control, and part number control easier. Others may be country specific. The lighting standard is 41 pages and I no longer have free access. It is likely the answer is there - the Korean tractors with brake lights may have them because it is a European requirement and they may not differentiate between American (US & Canada) and European. Kubota, however, assembles their SCUTs for North America in Georgia so they would likely not have brake lights. They go by ASAE B279 which does not require brake lights. And by the way, another thread talks about high mounted warning flashers on Kubota Grand L cabs getting knocked off. The standard requires 2 amber flashers 3.3 to 12 feet above ground so removing the cab top flashers and using only the fender mounts meets the law.

Brian's, James' and Murph's posts got me thinking, so I double-checked on my NX4510HST Cab. Sure enough, it does have brake lights and turn signals, plus the usual flashers/warning lights. :duh:

Well...I've only had it four months.

I've gone back and edited my earlier post #7.

Ours have horns too, I guess so you can sound horny?:D I haven't found much use for the horn yet. Maybe if you were herding animals around?
